LILY'S SEAFOOD GRILL & BREWERY

410 S. Washington Ave., Royal Oak, MI 48067 (248) 591-5459

Lily's Seafood Grill & Brewery

First off.... Who's been to Lily’s Seafood & Grill for their beer?!?! A wildly underrated brewery, that’s not mentioned enough with other Oakland County breweries. Although they should be!!! Add in a huge food menu and it's a must stop brewery. The two I had yesterday were...

1) HANZ and FRANZ Double IPA 9.1%. This is a damn good beer. Hoppy AF, Floral, and Citrusy! A nice start to my day.

2) LILY'S LIGHT Lager 4.6%. This was quite refreshing while sitting outside on a 90 degree day. Perfect beer to finish off my shrimp tacos!

Because I don't usually do much research before I hit the road, either by pedal or gasoline, I found out that my second stop The Royal Oak Brewery was closed. They gave their employees an extra holiday day off. Hats off to them! My feelings weren't hurt, just my taste buds. Next time you find yourself in Royal oak make Lily’s & The Royal Oak Brewery an easy two stop brewery tour.

Stop #2 for beer was in Birmingham at Griffin Claw. A short pedal from Royal Oak. Although they have a great food menu, my belly was still full from Lily's. So it was just beer here. Three of them to be exact.

1) PEACH PRIDE WHEAT, an easy drinking 5%. Very flavorful and went down fast after pedaling here. You may not find this on the menu when you stop. It was a limited release.

2) TROPICAL KRYOPOP NEIPA 6.5%. This beer was bursting with all the grapefruit flava! Another great beer for patio drinking on a scorching, sunny summer day.

3) PILSNER BY DEFAULT 5%. Did I say "sunny day"?!? Well that didn't last long. Nor did the beer. This classic tasting pilsner went down very fast as the storm clouds moved in even faster. It was the perfect fuel for my last 7 miles home.

Where’s your next bike tour taking you?
